Stop The "Kiddie Tax" on Gold Star Families

First of all, as a Gold Star mother and liaison to VoteVets.org, I join the staff in sending peace and comfort to all Gold Star families as we recognize their loss.

President Donald Trump signed into law the Republican's Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in December 2017 which increased taxes on the children of fallen service members.

From Military.com:

"Previously, survivors benefits that were allocated to the children of a fallen service member were taxed at the parent's rate. Under the new tax code, those benefits are instead treated the same as a trust or estate, which means they can be taxed at a rate as high as 37%, and that threshold is reached faster than it did before."

We want to make sure all Gold Star voices are heard and that this "Kiddie Tax" is overturned.

Sign VoteVets' petition – tell Donald Trump that we must overturn the "Kiddie Tax" and respect our Gold Star families.
