A MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR

Blue Water Navy Vietnam veterans await a decision from the U.S. Solicitor General’s office on whether it will challenge a Federal Circuit ruling that opened a door to Agent Orange-related benefits for the veterans. As Marcia Coyle reports, a decision to appeal the ruling to the U.S. Supreme Court could put the Trump administration at odds with Vietnam veterans. Read more in her story. Next, U.S. District Judge Judith Levy of the Eastern District of Michigan this week reversed her Aug. 1 order dismissing former Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder as a defendant in a class action over the Flint water crisis. Levy concluded that Snyder was indifferent to the harm in Flint because he denied knowledge of the issue, while privately discussing how to resolve it. Amanda Bronstad reports.
