A MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR

Sanford Heisler recently announced a new hire, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher's Paul Blankenstein, who has represented defendants in ERISA litigation and other matters. Blakenstein will co-chair Sanford Heisler's financial services litigation practice. The two firms are at odds in a bias suit against Morrison & Foerster, with Gibson Dunn seeking sanctions against Sanford Heisler for allegedly bringing “knowingly baseless” claims against its client. Ryan Lovelace has more in his story. Next, Google is sticking with Williams & Connolly in its copyright showdown with Oracle Corp., following Kannon Shanmugam's departure for Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison in January. Scott Graham reports.
