GOOD MORNING, MASSACHUSETTS. Welcome to Monday.

MERRIMACK VALLEY RECOUNT WATCH — The recount saga continues in the Democratic primary to replace Rep. Niki Tsongas.
Lori Trahan, now with a slim advantage in the vote count, has since Primary Night claimed victory and says she is gearing up for the general election. On Saturday, the former chief of staff to ex-Rep. Marty Meehan held a "Women for Lori" rally alongside three of her fellow female contenders in the House race where Trahan announced city and town clerks had certified more ballots, allowing her lead over Dan Koh to grow even more.

As of Sunday night, the secretary of state's office completed and certified vote totals showed Trahan finished in first place by 131 votes — more than double her initial margin of 52 votes over Koh, the former chief of staff for Boston Mayor Marty Walsh. Ten communities still have not certified their results.

Still, the Koh campaign is moving full speed ahead with its recount request, which is a completely separate process and may not wrap up until Monday, Sept. 17. "As we have said since Tuesday, Dan is committed to making sure all ballots are counted," Koh's campaign told me Sunday night. "That is why we are moving forward with our petition for a recount. We want the process to progress as swiftly as possible so that the ultimate nominee will have adequate time and resources to win in November." Whoever ultimately wins the primary will face Republican Rick Green on Nov. 6.
